What Are the Things You See on an Equity Curve Straightway?

Am, i pay attention more to the dips than the am than the gains. I want an equity curve that doesn't look sexy to your average person. Am if it's choppy and there is big swings up and down, i don't necessarily like it. Big swings are going to cause me to potentially increase my position size faster im after a big swing comes a big swing in the opposite direction.
