The Peace of God
The message of the cross is despised today, he says. The world pours out vials of its scorn or else does it even less honor by paying it lip service and then passing it by men dismiss it as a theory of the atonement. We are not saved by keeping ourselves constantly in the proper frame of mind but we were saved by Christ once for all when we were born again by God's Spirit. And the gospel message does not cease to be true because we have lost sight of the full glory of it.
