Ted Kaczynski, Ideological Terrorist or MKUltra Victim?

The CIA kept Ted Kaczynski out of jail on purpose for a long time. They knew he had violent tendencies, they knew he was getting into all sorts of fucked up shit with these girls. Why did they do that? I think they wanted to see what the effect of their program was. There's no evidence that he was monitored by the CIA after he got out. But it's worth thinking about.
