Run Them Numbers, Because It Is Expensive to Live With a Friend

If you've never lived alone, run the numbers five, six times. You don't want to sign a lease that you cannot actually afford and end up evicted in six months or whatever. It might hurt your friend's feelings, but you're not obligated to not hurt her feelings. If you know for a fact that you want to live alone, then just be real about it.
