Anthropocene is sometimes defined as period in which humanity has impacted geologic record. If we were to look back on us from the far future, we might be able to find things we didn't mean to leave behind. We can learn a lot about the past just from looking at ancient isotopes. Isotopes are versions of elements that have more or less neutrons. There's all different kinds of ways you can use those isotopes to read the history of the planet.

Was there a technologically advanced species living on Earth long before humans? And if one had existed, how would we know?
