The Lynching of May 1918 in Georgia

No one was ever held accountable or even charged for the barbarism of May 1918 in and around Valdosta, Georgia. The mob stripped his body, then cut off his genitals and threw them into the middle of the street. Some 500 black residents of Brooks County, Georgia, fled after that lynching rampage. Just as many are fleeing the onslaught of fire bombings and shootings in Southern California today.
