The Different Relationship Between Violence and Television

I grew up in Europe, I grew up in the United Kingdom and it was always interesting to me that America seemed to have a very complicated relationship with sex on television but not with violence. We were quite open to showing sex on camera, but violence you know we used to have what was called the watershed which meant any violent acts couldn't be shown on television after you know before 9pm. So it's sort of interesting the cultural norms globally around this that the U.S. does have a different relationship i think with violence in its media and violence for entertainment value. That's not to say that you know everything is pacifist globally there's plenty of British dramas which are full of violence
