Is There a Root Cause for Systemic Racism?
I think we've all learned more about systemic racism in the last couple of years than we ever wanted to know. There's a lot of work being done around diversity and equity and inclusion, but what policies are they working off of? If they still have to go back to a policy that was written 30, 40, 50 years ago that is rooted in systemic racism, then we're not really going to address the root cause of the problem. So I think that is the piece where it's important for organizations that have that history and an old policies to review the policies.
