Just as we can be mindful of somebody's physical actions externally, we can also be mindful of externally moods, mind states and emotions. It actually helps us develop some sense of empathy, some sense of connectedness. If it's something unwholesome that we see, we remain equanimous; if it's something wholesome that we seeing, it inspires us.
