Major League Baseball's New Paternity Leave Rule

The first guy to avail himself of the policy in April 2011 was Colby Lewis. Of the 365 days in a year, starting pitchers work maybe 40 of them counting spring training and playoffs. The MLBPA is a stronger union than the other leagues have. Maybe that's why or maybe it just hasn't been a priority in negotiating.
