I think there's more evidence that consciousness is the tip of the iceberg than we appreciate. I would suggest what youre saying is like the rest of academiis in favor of a 'consciousness first' approach. Essentially, i'm just barey aware and not aware of what i'm doing - but it doesn't stop me from going on with my day-to-day life. We have very good neural models for how our brains work to some extent. But when looking at something as complex as an animal such as mice or humans, they don't really fit into any kind of mechanistic model. And this could be because these organisms are ongoing processes rather than instantaneous ones. This
