The Difference Between a Christian and a Fellow Member of a Local Church

There is no difference in that you are one in Christ. You're all indwelt by the same spirit. And that's not, again, not for the elders, but for every member of the church. So as long as you're both in some of these same network of churches, the same denomination, you are ultimately under the same authority. But if there is a challenge in the way you are living or Alberto are living that would cause one of you to feel you need to take Matthew 18 and confront the person with sin in their life, then there's not finally the same set of elders that you would apply to. That's why we have structures above the local church.
