Sammy davis junior did not much changed in terms of what it was like to live as a black man in america between his childhood in the 19 twenties and his death in 19 90. Though he often tried to escape and transcend the realities he was subjected to by the color of his skin, he never fully could. Frank and dean were born into a world in which they weren't considered white, and on the race class ender ladder that is life in america. As late as the 19 forties, they were closer to where sammy was than to where you'd find the average, powerful white man.
