Overconfidence is prevalent in many areas, and that's a very popular cognitive bias to talk about. Underconfidence is also a feature of many situations and is linked to anxiety and and so on. The products have complicated unconscious systems that are working away under the hood. There's a lot of mileage to be gained from realizing that a lot of our feelings of confidence are conscious feelings of confidence and uncertainty.
