The Possibility of a New Political Party in the Irish Context
The Irish Daily Mail reports that independent TD Michael Fitzmaris may be in the early stages of setting up a new political party, something like an Irish farmers party. Do you rate this as a story? I do think it's possible. There is a very strong anti-green sentiment amongst the rural population, especially those in the farming community. The farmers party in the Netherlands has been incredibly politically successful over the last year or so in achieving some objectives.
