Gibson was getting paid less than the better-know-and-John-Philippe-Law, who played this Dutch guy. And Gibson didn't get the on-screen love interest either. The movie was delayed by the constant rain of Northern Taiwan during the winter. There's not much of a happy ending for anyone, though. Plenty of shooting action, but a rather down-beat ending I must say.
