Is There So Much Symbolism in University?
LZ Granderson: University is a tremendous tent pole. It's something that really anchors a lot of our professional selves and our professional lives, both from a symbolic sense. LZ: I think this has to be about being honest about what you really want. And then maybe separating it from what's important to your kid. You go to college for the learning but also for kinship with friends or mentors who will carry you through life. He says employers don't want to hire kids from Ivy League institutions there is a form of anti-snobbery growing up.
