The Magic of Edie
Edie believes that she has magical powers. Her grandmother, Clarity, still is her ballist. It's said in the village that she can cast an evil eye over people. But then I don't know if I want Edie to not be open to Constance's influence because she gives her friendship and kindness and good things. As the book goes on and we realize that Constance's politics are more and more suspect, we begin to fear for Edie.
