The Importance of Rapid Response to Biological Disasters

NTI looks at nuclear chemical, radiological, biological, and cyber threats across a relatively small organization. It's very hard to predict for any given scenario how many people would die in an event like that. The Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security recently published a working definition of global catastrophic biological risk. They questioned whether absolute numbers were necessarily the most important thing but did say such events could lead to sudden, extraordinary widespread disaster.
