Is Age a Factor in Learning a Second Language?
The early bird gets the worm, but it's never too late to learn gin. Researchers have found that knowing a second language can actually delay dementia by four to six years. When a new word in another language is learned, there's an already distinct concept of ther for that word. And so a couple of days later if we just simply hold up a picture of a cat and ask them what its name is, they'll say gato. Its the same with other languages: The only difference is you don't need to be native-sounding like sounding.
