The savage slop became, symbolically, the key place holder that really justifies all of those from the point of view of the west. It really was used in debates, in a political debates, in theological debates, to say, we can do this. We have the right to do this because these people are this kind of other,. And i think that we see it sort of being reanimated in lots of ways to day as well. and then becomes the object of study for anthropologists, absolutely.
