There seems to be in Hawking's way of formulating the problem, no relationship between the information stored in the book that you throw into the black hole and the radiation that comes out. So it's actually a very different question. If you're interested in this kind of thing, I can hardly recommend David Chalmers' book on the idea. He tries his best to make the case that it does count as reality.
