I don't think we avoid, I don't think people who understand the ramifications of what it means to have a dictatorship avoid talking about that. Machiavelli discourses on the Livy has this very true and very valid point which is that you can only see any complete change in regime has to basically begin with a monarchy. Putin and Stalin for me are kind of both defined in a way by their really, they both have basically a fucked up relationship with the United States. Any change that you envision therefore if you consider thinking about regime change to be unacceptable should be in the context of what is actually possible within the evolutionary powers of the regime that you were in.
