The Differential Features of Human Babbling

The most salient features of human infant babbling are reduplication and rythmicity. The concept of universality is that all, I guess, typically developing infants engage in babbling behavior. For instance, if you look at different syllable types that are emerging in babbling, like a bah or a gah, a dah, a tea, whatever you want. And they don't emerge in like a linear pattern. It's not one day you have one syllable type and the next day you have two. So sometimes you seem to have no progress at all and then you make it platoes again.
