Was Gillies Successful in His Patience?
In some cases, certainly. Gillies did the best he could a but the psychological damage as well wasn't dealt with with the lot of these men. But i think one of the really interesting things about gilly's hospital that he founded was called the queen's hospital. Instead cut um, it was only for facial injuries. And so in a way, it was really great for these patients. Because whereas if they were at a different hospital, they might feel kind of shy or self conscious to participate in certain activities. Even though all the soldiers are injured, not all of them have a facial injury,. Whereas everybody at the queen's Hospital had a facial injury.
