Dawkins tweeted that the average 19th century peasant used a vocabulary of 250 words, an educated person, 5,000 and Shakespeare, 27,000. "I just, I pity the poor lexicographer that this guy has quoted," he said. Dawkins is known for saying things that are very uncalled for.
