The Mystery of Verickor

Our narrator, our critic, is eager to find it. He's downstairs with a candle looking for some of his books so he can get started on his quest. This mystery in the books, in all twenty volumes, every line on every page, the author has put it there. It's been his sole motivating force, and the critics clever as they are haven't noticed it.
