The Perils of an Attorney General Blinded by Vendetta

Bobby Kennedy formed what was known as the Get Hoffa Squad when he became Attorney General in 1961. The team included a group of special investigators that were deputized later as U.S. Marshals. Bobby brought in his UVA Law School Professor who taught about the tax code and made him the IRS Commissioner with the explicit purpose of auditing Teamster allies. Jimmy Hoffa had been accused of putting his union in Hock to the Mafia, accuses him of sanctioning murder against his foes. But it wasn't for lack of trying; RFK's Justice Department actually had nothing really on Jimmy Hoffa.
