The Struggles of a PhD Student

Thomas is working on two very exciting projects in the area of sustainability. He has developed a method for genetic engineering of oleogenius yeast to make tailor-made fats that can substitute palm oil and cocoa oil. That was seven years in the making but it took three PhD student rounds to find the solution. The diligence and frustration tolerance is certainly key attributes that you need to have as a scientist, he says.
