In the process of writing Letter to a Young Artist in the 21st Century, I realized 7 Universal Truths of Art. These are explored throughout the essay, they are included here for ease of reference:
- Every creative act is an act of courage.
- You will never feel good enough; even after decades of proving yourself.
- There are only two paths for every artist–to create public work or to create private work.
- To be an artist means to be possessed by something unreasonable and be devoted to something impractical.
