The Death of Solomon Bo

The final act of the novel and it's told really, really quickly is the death of Solomon Bo. She's finally married off to Narhavas, the Numidian king who allies with Carthage in return for a promise that he can marry her. Oddly enough, I found a lot of critical studies that say she dies of shock. Although it seems pretty clear to me that Carthage has poisoned her. So everything at the end is erased, all this suffering.
