The Benefits of Using a Dual Source CT Scanner for Coronary CTAs
The study is not very convincing that the increase in CT completion time is primarily due to the beta blocker administration. While there was a significant difference in subjective image quality, statistical testing was not performed for the comparison between the diagnostic performance of each group. The benefit of using a dual source CT scanner may not have an impact on clinical outcomes decreasing its utility. Still, this study is of value in demonstrating how CT scanners with high temporal resolution could be used to scan coronary CTAs with outdated blocker use while preserving or improving image quality.
