Subvert and Flatten It

I think part of this was that the that throughout our adult lives, part of upper middle class America has been trying to destroy it or destroy the cultural significance of these things. So we need to like subvert and flatten it. We're not yuking other people's yums. And I don't know now whether all that that we grew up thinking was the order of the world, whether it exists in the same way now.
