The Cultural Framework of Christian Nationalism
Christian nationalism idealizes and advocates for the fusion of a particular expression of Christianity with American civic life. It believes that this version of Christianity should be the principle and undisputed cultural framework in the US. There's a strong association with a desire for strict boundaries around national identity, like who gets to call themselves an American? And oftentimes we find that this falls along ethnoracial lines.
