I'm not working on the novel, which has been great. I just have not got the time to work on the novel at the moment. So I've been working on small commissions that don't demand a lot of attention. It is impossible to talk to you without acknowledging the seismic change. That is going on outside our windows. We're recording this in lockdown at a time when the unlawful killing of George Floyd in America has triggered anti-racist protests around the world. And really, Bernardine, I just wanted to know what you made of that and whether you've been able to write in the midst of it.
