Dr Candika's Finger Test - A Fresh Assault
The National Medical Council issued an order stating that the test should not be conducted by doctors across India. In 2011, Maharashtra became the first state in the country to ban the test altogether. Dr. Candika was then included in a national committee that framed guidelines for doctors examining victims of sexual assault. The study conducted by doctor Candika in 2009 became a public interest litigation before the Bombay High Court.
