Plasmas Are Critical to Fusion Reactors
What we're creating here is something called a plasma. And plasmas are the four states of matter after solid liquids and gases, but they've got much worse PR than the other ones. Plasmas have these properties that mean that you get around this problem of missing the collisions. High density means that the particles are packed close together. A good fusion reactor as well needs three things. It needs a high temperature,. It needs to be quite dense. So everything's packed together and it needs to keep the particles confined.
