The Nature of Norms
The norms that might make someone do something they otherwise might not choose, like these would encourage the quote unquote good decision or decision that is at least pro social helps others. But I guess the nice part of the story that there is the other side of that, which is maybe someone doesn't want to do such and such an action. What they end up doing because of the norms is actually more pro social or cooperative or however you want to describe it than it otherwise would be. And so if where norms emerge is from aggregating those kinds of individual judgments into something that sort of we can all agree on, then you would expect for groups of people that are positively disposed to each other,
