What's Your Plan?

When i enter an en game, i try to stop myself and say, what is your plan here? You're no longer playing the same chess game you were. What's your plan? And that's what i'm thinking, the weaknesses. How many are there? If there's only one, that's not enough. Whereas before i would have assumed one would easily be enough. Black plate according to a definite plan, whereas white played only with the conviction that the game was bound to end in a draw. The result was an instructive series of typical patterns and stratagems much more useful to students of the game than so called brilliancies of short, one sided games.
