The Hermetic teachings were developing right alongside early Christianity and Gnosticism. So there's a lot of influence. I think we've been asking the wrong question because it's not like her criticism ever started. It just it's a continuation of the Egyptian mystery, same with Gnosticism,. except it took on the culture around it and some of the history.
