The Importance of Continuous Glucose Monitoring

In Canada, we have coverage for insulin pumps and some provinces have coverage for the continuous glucose monitors that they're expensive. But even though we have coverage in Canada and most of the US has coverage, the uptake of insulin pumps is about 50% right now. In larger, more progressive cities, it might be as high as 70, 80%. So I think the kids are taking on the technology maybe better than some of the people who've been living with type one since childhood. Although my mother-in-law also has type one, she's 74 and she wears an insulin pump. We got her to switch four years ago, because I think it does give more physiologic insulin replacement than
