When Do You Really Need a COO?
The bigger the title we give, that often can lead people towards higher expectations. Be very careful with giving out titles that are too senior, too early and be very cost plus. If you only want to pay $140,000 a year, that is not a COO. That's probably more like a director of operations or at best a lower paid VP of operations.
