He is a construction magnate who made his billions in the construction boom after Qatar's discovery of oil and natural gas. And he managed to get himself by hook or by crook onto the FIFA executive committee. The dam broke at that point on FIFA corruption, because people looked at this and thought, there is no logical explanation for that decision.
