How to Recruit a PhD Student?

There are so many students out there in the world that their hope is to join your lab for their PhD or maybe join your lab as an undergrad researcher. What do you look for when you recruit students? I mean, it's good to have research experience. And then I guess one other thing that I sometimes look for is kind of eagerness to work with real robots as well.
