The Role of Vitamin D in Immune Function

Vitamin D is one of those essential micronutrients. You need certain levels of it to regulate and modulate the immune system. It's naturally present in foods, typically salmon, fatty fish, cheese, some dairy products,. egg yolks, and other foods that we commonly eat. And as you said, it's also added to lots of the foods I know I always see like vitamin D fortified milk. But it's also produced endogenously. So when we go outside, we're in the sunlight and UV rays strike our skin. It triggers vitamin D synthesis. That's actually the main method of synthesis in humans.
