If something is really easy, your working memory may be underloaded. So if for example, you already know this subject, you don't have to load your working memory very much because basically you have so much stuff in your long-term memory that a small amount of help from your working memory is all it's needed. Dual coding theory is the idea that working memory is actually split up into finer parts. This is the highest level distinction that we have, working memory and long- term memory. That's an absolutely top level distinction.
