How to Write a Book of Essays
I think the bulk of the work is done here at the desk, although there's, you absolutely have to write every day. What I always tell people is to have a notebook on you, have something. If you've got a great idea for a lead, just scribble it down somewhere as fast as you can. Because it's so easy to forget that. And 10 minutes later, you know, the school bus has pulled up or the dog has showed up muddy or whatever and it's gone. That's what's tragic.
