The Ethics of Ghehana and Hades

In the ancient world, we think of consequences and accountability if you don't behave these ways. Back then, in the Deuteronomic texts, it would have been an oppressing army that will come and wipe you out as a people group. And so to think about what's going on in the New Testament text is equally appropriate to understand that Jesus is using rhetoric of his time for ethical purposes.
