The US and ECOWAS' Response to the Nigerian Coup

The official position from the US and also from ECOWAS is that it's not too late for the purchase to back down. So they're kind of partially, I think, trying to send that message,. whether or not they believe that is another matter. The other question is this, the section 7008, which would require the United States to end security assistance if there was a coup.
