When I was a novice writer, I was often told that I wrote sentences that were too long. And Ursula gave me permission when it was when the rhythm needed it to stretch out and to really enjoy a long, a long sentence. Later in my life, when I flew in a balloon over a whole slownliness ... everything seeming to move in sweeping arches. That's why the people of the coast have that certain look behind their eyes -- they don't want to live anywhere else.
